Contacts for students

On this page, you can find an overview of other contact points if this website does not sufficiently help you.

Student Council of Computer Science

The active student council is the student representation at the faculty. If you do not know where to turn, we are always happy to help you. Otherwise, we are the proper place to turn to when it comes to the programming prep course, Ophase/Ofahrt or problems in teaching. You can reach us here:

At the Department of Computer Science

Study/Examination Office

The Examination Office is responsible for all formalities concerning examinations (registration/deregistration including sick leave/certificates, registration of grades, final papers, inspection of reports, recognitions, applications to the examination board, etc.). It is located at S2|02 D117.

There is a mailbox in front of the examination office for applications, forms, certificates, etc. on paper. Requests are best sent by e-mail (studienbuero@dekanat.informatik.tu-darmstadt.de) - with reference to your own contact information. Paper work should therefore also be sent in advance by e-mail (PDF incl. signature). Medical certificates can currently be submitted online.

Student Advisory Service

The departmental student advisory service is responsible for all other matters concerning studies at the department of computer science, which are independent of course events.

Prospective students, current applicants to the B.Sc. Computer Science program, as well as students in the B.Sc. Informatics are asked to register for the Moodle course of the student advisory service for bachelor of computer science students. Plenty of information is already provided there, so you should first check if the answer can be found there.

For B.Sc. Computer Science students the following applies:

  • Ask general questions in the forum of the Moodle course, so that the answer can help as many students as possible. (This is not anonymous!)
  • If you need a personal appointment, you can make one in Moodle (please note the instructions). After making an appointment you should always comment on what it is about and which Skype ID will be used.
  • Via „Sammlung von Fragen…“ questions and wishes for new content can be expressed (anonymous possible).
  • If the question cannot be answered this way, there is the E-Mail address beratung@informatik.tu-darmstadt.de for all kinds of requests.

For recognitions of previous achievements, the following applies: Directly submit the transcript oif records and the relevant module handbook. Recognitions can only be granted after complete enrollment and with TU-ID; then please report by e-mail.

For international matters, please contact ausland@dekanat.informatik.tu-darmstadt.de. A consultation appointment can be arranged. Please provide documents for the recognition of achievements abroad via the Hessenbox. Further documents can be sent by e-mail or Hessenbox. In addition, the information on the website of the International Relations and Mobility Office applies.

Infrastructure and Student Pool Service (ISP)

Attention, the ISP is sometimes called the RBG. The ISP is responsible for the technical offers to students of FB 20, for example e-mail, mailing lists, computer pool rooms with printing facilities, etc. A manual for the usage of the offers provided by the ISP via remote login (SSH) can be found on the web pages of the ISP.

Intensive Mentoring System (iMS)

The iMS is a compulsory course that must be completed in the 1st and, if applicable, 2nd semester of the B.Sc. computer science program. Detailed information about the course and registration can be found on the iMS website. Questions about the mentoring system can be sent to mentorensystem@dekanat.informatik.tu-darmstadt.de.
